My name is Racquel and I’m a freelance writer.

I am NOT in San Francisco. Yet.

Here’s the deal: A few years ago, I met the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I’m in Manila, he’s in San Francisco. We’re doing the whole long-distance thing. To death.

We’re ready to start the next chapter in our lives, but the business of being together is turning out to be a whole other ocean we have to cross. Apparently, it’s not as easy or romantic as hopping on a plane and leaving it all behind. (You lied to me, Hollywood!)

So while I’m technically still trying to make it to San Francisco, the “in San Francisco” part of this blog has come to represent a bunch of other things: how to make it in a long-distance relationship, how to make it as a freelance creative, how to make it through grief, and how to make it in <insert whatever your dream is here>.

And because some dreams take longer than others, this blog is also about how to make it in-between.

Keep me company. Let’s learn how to love our dreams more than our fears. Let’s tear things down and rebuild them into something better than we ever imagined. Let’s want more and do more and be more.
